Data Aging in Bitmovin Observability

Types of granularity

Bitmovin's Observability offers data in 2 different granularities:

• High-granularity data: each event of every user session is collected.
• Compressed data: all events of a user session are stored in a single-row summary of the user session.

High-granularity data is stored for 30 days or 90 days depending on the retention plan you've purchased. Compressed data is then available for up to 13 months if you've purchased this as part of your plan.

Dashboard and query implications

• Dashboard features that are based on high-granularity data or have limited functionality after the high-granularity retention period are marked as such in the dashboard.
• All custom API queries based solely on high-granularity data will only function for that respective period.
